REMINDERS- It is important that you make time each day to dedicate to your learning. Some helpful tips: set aside 15-20 minutes for each subject Stop after each for a mental break-physical activity, read, play a game, bake, do a craft, etc. Use the educational link booklet I provided for extra educational opportunities for virtual tours of zoo’s,mueseums, for art activities, the possibilities are endless. MATH- The package sent home is what we usually would complete for 2 weeks before our final “Show what you Know Test” There are questions on each outcome we have learned this year. All questions will have a basic, mid-range and high level question. We have yet to cover Transformations,Probability and Data Collection. In the weeks to follow this break, these topics will be covered
Recommendation- choose 2 outcomes per day to work through. Work may need to be done on loose leaf or in a booklet for more space. We have kept ALL of our units this term( found in your binders) please refer to these as a reference. * Answer key is found as a tab on the top of this webpage*
IXL and Sumdog are also great ways to continue practicing your skills. ELA- It is my hope that we return to class as normal in April and we will continue our novel “The Boy in the Striped Pajamas” together. In your packages are a combination of Comprehension pages, written responses, Vocabulary and Language activities for the current 2 week extension to spring break. Recommendation: complete one of each on a daily basis * Answer keys will also be available soon*
TUSC - I encourage you to record on your own or with help from a family member, your March TUSC and send it to me at [email protected]
SCIENCE- Being only one day in to our Science Unit on Flight, I have complied a student booklet with information, activities, inquiry and design activities. The expectation is not that you complete this entire booklet. We have Science every second day on our regular schedule. My recommendation is that you read and complete 3-4 pages in the booklet every second day.
French- La Nourriture-( Food) You are very familiar with the format of these units as this would be our 5th that is laid out in the exact same format.
Recommendation- Work through the vocabulary.Using a English to French translator found online ( just type that into google) listen to the pronunciation of each word and repeat orally. You can also write out how it sounds in English ( like we do in class)
Make your own flash cards and have a family member quiz you. When you feel confident in your understanding, try the crossword, fill in the blank activities, cut out and complete the puzzle. Work through at your own pace and then complete the quiz without any materials. Continue to use Duolingo to practice reading, writing, and speaking
Art- There will be no assigned projects at this time. Students are encouraged to use the educational link package for art inspiration from home.
